Sumo video

If you'd like to see a funny/cute short video clip of Noah the sumo-boy, you can go to my friend's blog at: http://www.sjworst.blogspot.com/ and go to her recent post from Aug. 19th entitled "Toddler Friends, Famous Cupcakes, and a Sumo Fight" and scroll down to the bottom of the post. The video was shot during a recent visit with the Worst/Philips crew. He is officially fatter than his buddy Fred, who is 6 weeks older. Fred is still longer/taller than him. It's funny to see the two of them together. Hope everyone has a lovely Labor Day weekend!

We Moved!

Well, we finally made the big move to Roselle! We survived as did Noah and Ellie. It was a lot of work, but thankfully we had movers for the big stuff. We're still settling in and unpacking, but overall everything has gone well. Ellie loves all the extra space and Noah is adjusting fairly well to his own room. It's great to have a place that feels like home to us. After a few more weeks of organizing and cleaning up, we'll be hosting some great housewarming parties!

Painting Purgatory

So we finally took ownership of our home this past Thursday and started our two weeks of "moving hell." This weekend we had planned simply to paint the master bedroom and master bathroom, do a few small projects (towel bars, showerhead, etc), and clean the place. Well, upon further inspection of the walls, it was decided to paint the entire main floor of the house (approximately 1200 square feet). We were very fortunate to have lots of family and friend come by to help out. So, thanks to all our parents, our siblings (and some significant others), Cliff, Val, Bob and Michelle for all their help. Webster came over too to break in the yard for Ellie. We'll be spending this week gearing up for the actual move which is on Saturday. On top of all this Abby heads back to work (part time) this week. I guess we'll sleep in 2010. But it's all very exciting!

I wanna be like Mike...

Noah continues to strive to be just like dad, furrowing his brow at mommy on a regular basis. He's also getting bigger every minute. We went to the doctor yesterday and the latest stats are 16 lbs 14oz and 26.75 inches tall. So, if you're keeping track in 2 months he has gained over 3 lbs and grown 2.5 inches. He is in the 90th percentile for length and the 75th percentile for weight. It's amazing how much he changes in such a short time. In other news, we closed on our house (finally!) yesterday so we have now joined the ranks of poor homeowners. We actually get the keys on Thursday night and we'll be spending this weekend painting and cleaning. Very exciting and stressful time!

Fun with Uncle Bob and Aunt Schmell!

Up to the lakehouse again, this time for a visit with Uncle Bob and Aunt Michelle (Abby's friends from grad school). There was a lot of activity for Mr. Noah, he tried on Grandpa's hat, got to try out some cereal, and got a baby tattoo courtesy of a gift from some other friends. Yes, they do in fact make fake tattoos just for babies and we could not resist. Noah did very well with his first try at cereal. He made the typical faces, but didn't spit it all out or gag. By the end he was opening his mouth in anticipation of the spoon. Exciting stuff!

Yeehaw!

Cowboy Noah took a ride on his doggie yesterday. Poor Ellie, what we make her do! As you can see by the last picture, she wasn't very into this experience, just wanted to go to sleep. In other news, hope everyone survived those nasty storms last night. The sirens did in fact go off here in Willowbrook and we spent about 20 minutes in the downstairs laundry room with some neighbors. Noah thought it was fun meeting new people, Ellie however was drooling in the corner. Fortunately the tornadoes missed us and we were able to go back up in time for bed!
