Birthday times 2!

So, last weekend we did our first birthday bash for Mr. Isaac and our 6th birthday bash for Mr. Noah.  We invited our families over for some bday fun and food.  Auntie Kim trimmed up the big guy for his big day.

He was not a huge fan, but he didn't have any crazy Sam-style freakouts.
How cute is he?!  Thanks Aunt Kim!
He loves having his cousins around too!
Papa and his crew of grandkids!
Bamma and Bampa and the boys!
Mike goes all UFC on Sam...
Celebrating a year of this trio!
Noah got the jersey from Josh & Kjersten.
Cake time!  Mike did not make either of these.  He's saving up his masterpiece for Noah's friend party at Chuck E Cheese next week.
My two big bday guys!
Not entirely sure about this whole cake business at first...
The whole thing is for me you say?  Ah, I'm all over it!
Sam downed pieces from BOTH cakes.
Now let's get serious!
 Cake meets his high standards...
 This. Is. AWESOME!
Big man shows how it's done.
 Just messy cake perfection here...

The aftermath was quite fantastic.  It was decided that of our 3 boys, Isaac gets MVP for first birthday cake performance.  It was a job well done son!

This disaster needs a bath, no doubt!

Is it really over dad?  Say it ain't so!
All cleaned up and ready for balloon fun!
Birthday boy with Josh and Kjersten!
Kjersten tries to convince Buddha he can walk, he was not convinced...
But he is VERY close to walking and talking for that matter.  He's getting braver and braver cruising around the furniture.  And he's definitely getting some mama, dada, and baba productions that are very word-like.  Now we're looking forward to a fun family week off of school/work all together!  HOORAY!

Exciting week!

We have had a very exciting week around here!  Isaac turned 1, we celebrated St. Patty's, Noah lost his first tooth, Mike got a new job and has a couple weeks off before he starts.  EXCITEMENT up in here!  I had to take a picture of Sam being, well Sam.  He looks like  a long shoreman or something.  That kid!
We decided to spent Isaac's birthday dinner with the Schwantz's at Pilot Pete's.  It's a restaurant right on the runway of the regional airport.  So much fun!
First taste of ice cream does not disappoint!

The kids got to watch some small aircraft take off and land, it was so fun!

Saturday was Mike's last working Saturday, woohoo!  We're so thrilled to have him back on Saturdays from now on!  To celebrate St. Patty's, I took the boys to the Weingarts in East Dundee for some party and some parade!
 The Worst crew came too!

It was cold, but not as cold as anticipated.  We were ready with our beards and our party hats!

Calvin had an epic princess wave!

The kids caught loads of candy!
Isaac passed out due to exhaustion under a coffee table.  Had to take advantage of the photo op!
More excitement as Noah lost his first baby tooth!
That's right, that's a 10 dollar bill you see there!  I was shocked, but I think the Tooth Fairy felt a bit pressured by the fact she handed over a 20 to the kid across the street.
On Friday we had the Worst kids over for the day.  Sadly, Stan's grandma passed away.  It was a somber occasion, but we were happy to have the kids for the day.  The big guys all helped walk Noah to school.

Poor Hattie was TERRIFIED of Ellie dog.  She spent most of the day clung to me (I didn't mind the free snuggles!)
So, now we prep for Isaac and Noah's family party!  YAY for march party time!
