Relaxing poolside

We had our friends Meryn and Ryane back for a visit today. We decided we should take advantage of the pool since it's about 3 weeks left till we move. It was a perfect day, hot and sunny. Meryn definitely enjoyed splashing around and touring the pool while directing me where to take her. Noah wasn't completely sold on the whole thing, the water was a little chilly. When we went back to the apartment to cool down and eat, Meryn thought it would be funny to wear Noah's orange hat around. She looked hysterical, like one of those comical cartoon drunks with a too-small hat. We had a great time, Noah was so tired he slept for 3 hours this afternoon!

Rolling, rolling, rolling!

Noah's feat of the week has been rolling over. Ellie acts as coach and cheerleader, licking his fingers as he desperately attempts to get that big ole belly over. I wouldn't say he's "mastered" this skill yet, there's still alot of flailing involved, but it's exciting nonetheless!

No story, just cute!

There's really no story here, just cute pictures of Noah that I can't help but post. I love how the 2nd one looks like he's playing airplane. That's all, just bragging mom here!

Ellie vs. The Dyson

So, I did it! I bought a dyson. After months of research and contemplation I took the plunge. Yes, you can make fun of me. Mike and my mother have already had a field day with my housewifery dorkiness. But seriously, this is the best purchase I've made in a LONG time. I knew I was making a good call when the sales woman told me she would trade in her husband before she would get rid of her dyson. Ellie is not happy about this new purchase. She hates vacuum cleaners and this one is no different. She chases it and bites it even when it's not on. I don't think she'll be a happy camper with all the cleaning that is to come!

Noah, the dog whisperer

Ellie and Noah have been getting along famously! Noah is more aware of her now and often raises his hand when she is near for kisses. She loves licking his little fingers and he laughs his head off when she does. It is so cute! This week we were back up in Michigan dogsitting Ellie's friend Webster (Noah refers to him as the big brown dog). Ellie and Noah has this cute session on the couch where they snuggled and Noah tried to "pet" Ellie. The petting involved mostly grabbing her ears or poking her eye, but Ellie took it all in stride. Webster is getting to know Noah better now, the first night he was scared of Noah in his burrito wrap wiggling around his pack and play. The dogs (and the people) had a great time and now everyone is worn out!

More girlfriends for Noah

Noah and I just returned from a quick trip to Iowa City to meet up with our friends Andrea and Ayla. Ayla is 6 months old and Noah is now 3 and a half months old. We had a great time swimming in the hotel pool and snuggling in bed. Noah and Ayla definitely look different, but are close in size. Noah is now practicing the "fake cough" move that Ayla taught him. We had a fabulous time and we can't wait to see Andrea and Ayla again come Rodeo time (that'll be in mid-September, hooray!).

Look out, he's mobile.... -ish...

So, yesterday I placed Noah on his belly for his regimented daily "tummy time." Noah is not a big fan of tummy time, and began his usual whiny protest. I went into the kitchen to do some dishes and came out a few minutes later. Noah had been place in the middle of the gym mat with his head on the sun and his feet pointing down. So, he wiggled himself about 90 degrees to the right and then down the mat. It was pretty good! And it was a reminder that I need to vacuum more, as the kid came up with a face full of dog hair and such, poor guy!

The Fourth of July

We went up to my parents lakehouse on Diamond Lake again for the weekend. Noah really enjoyed himself. He liked spending lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Josh as well as the crazy Benhart clan.

He also got to try out his new life jacket and go for a ride on the pontoon boat. It was an exhausting experience!

The weekend was capped off with a small "parade" on the island that Noah got to join with his cousins. He may not have been a big fan of the hat mom made him wear, and he had the continual "what are you people doing" look on his face, but we think he still enjoyed himself. Hope everyone had a lovely independence day!
