Well it's October, and we have settled into one of the strangest school years ever! The boys have been fully remote, since beginning mid-August I have been going in to work, our district is doing a hybrid model, but my programs have been full day. It was a trick to get it all to work, but with the help of grandparents and Mrs. Laura, we have managed! Sam and Isaac have a decent set up in the living room...
First Day of the 2020-2021 School year! No shoes or backpack required!
My first day in the building, very strange but it's getting better. Lots of screen time still, as all our meetings and collaborations happen online now.
This is one of my coworkers modeling all the PPE we have available to us. I don't typically don this much, but we are thankful to have it!
New hats in preparation for the cooler weather!
A neighborhood cat has been visiting, showing up at the window to stare at Molly some evenings. We aren't sure if they are friends or enemies - cats!
The cats have adjusted to us being around a lot, it will be interesting to see what happens when we all have to go back to school.

I record a lot of videos for my work, so I've set up a little office corner up in our bedroom. The cats have been so very helpful.
Even otherwise surly 12 year olds love the cat snuggles.
They might actually like each other. Maybe.
We have been enjoying the nice weather and the ability to have friends over outside. Last week, the Townsends came over and helped cut a few dead limbs off a birch tree. We did pretty well with the chainsaw!
Gotta burn all the wood somehow, right? Another awesome fire pit night!
And now we prepare for Halloween, whatever that will mean this year. Isaac has decided he wants to do his fries costume from last year again. So, that allowed a little more $$ in the budget for Sam, who decided he wanted the ridiculous Jurassic Park raptor costume. Too funny! Not sure that we will be trick or treating, but we can still find ways to have fun!
Bamma has been here 2 days a week, and she has been awesome doing projects and taking pictures. The boys celebrated International Dot Day with several different paintings.
One of the benefits of virtual learning is that they can get outside and take breaks! Thank goodness for good weather and a nearby park!
And another benefit of grandparents is the "treats" they bring. Sam and Isaac LOVED their shrimp lunch the other day!
So, we are moving forward. Thankful to be healthy and thankful to be doing our best despite difficult circumstances. The boys will start attending school 2 days per week on October 19th, so on to new challenges!
