Memorial weekend full of memory making!

We had the best Memorial Day weekend EVER!  It was filled with lots of family time and fun activities.  It helped that the weather was gorgeous too!  Isaac is getting sturdier every day.  He's easily standing on his own, now if he could just get a couple steps on his own he'd be off and running!

Sam and Isaac have a very, hum how do I say this... love/dislike? relationship.  It's pretty well captured in this 2 photo sequence.  "We're best buds, we're hilarious..."
"I'm just going to smash your head a bit!"
So Mike and I both had Friday off of work, which was so nice, it made for a full family 4 day weekend.  Noah still had school on Friday, but we were able to do some fun things in the morning. There were some rousing games of Elefun.
It was fun until the hollering about who got what net and who got the most butterflies, etc...  But at least we have a game that all 3 can play :)

We had an outdoor lunch, it was beautiful!  Noah enjoyed some bottled root beer before heading off to Field Day at his school.

Sam tried his hand at playing goalie in soccer!

Saturday was official buzz cut day!  Isaac handled his first shaving very well, no tears or freakouts (like both his brothers did their first time).
Noah and Sam did a great job cheering him on and keeping him entertained while Daddy took off those baby curls!
 Pretty darn cute, I'd say!
Next up was Sam, muscles and all!  He has come so far from the child that was inconsolable during haircuts of all types and feared even going in salons to say Hi to people.  Way to go!
3 boys for the price of, none!  All clean and cool for summer!
On Saturday night we went to the local Schaumburg Boomers baseball game!
The kids loved the food most of all, cotton candy (yes), popcorn (yes), slushie (yes), ice cream (yes), soft pretzel (yes)!
We had a great view of the game, but I'm pretty sure the food trumped all!
There was also some face painting.  Sam got a snake...
And Noah got a spider!  We only lasted till about the 8th inning, but it was a blast nonetheless.
Sunday we sported our patriotic captain america shirts to head over to Papa's house!
The pool (which has no heater) was a bit chilly, but Noah was all over it!
Of course Sam still fits in the infant floatie, of course!
Isaac was very happy to sit with Auntie Kimmie and just dangle his feet in!
The junk food continued with ice cream from the ice cream truck!
 And cupcakes from Papa!
Monday we took a walk (Sam in his jammies still)!  Then we went to the pool with the neighbors and then had them over for dinner/grilling.  It was a perfect weekend!
So this week, we're just winding down school days until summer!  We did some potato stamping (which basically turned into fingerpainting).
Isaac thinks he's just about the funniest thing he's ever seen (perhaps taking after his comedic older brother, Sam).
And Ellie is still our baby too, spending most of her days napping like a princess on the couch!

Wonderful weekends!

We had a lovely family weekend!  I think we're all just loving the better weather and the increased family time.  It's just been really enjoyable!  Here are some highlights of the week...
I may have been a big groggy when prepping a bottle one morning.  I mean, we know Isaac likes to eat/drink, but sheesh!
We had Nico over last week and did a fun melting plastic bead craft activity.
MaKenna from across the street even came over for a bit too.  I love that my kids go at it during dress up and our guests just look over at me like, "is this ok?"
 Isaac joined in the fun!
It was mayhem, but fun, good, loud mayhem!
Getting ready for Blackhawk playoff hockey!
I've been the lucky recipient of a few Starbucks giftcards, so Noah and I had an afternoon date there.  He's getting so big, I want to take time to enjoy him before he's "too cool" to hang out with his mom!
There was some spoon war action in the kitchen, look how distressed Isaac is!
Sam got some good hits in!
Saturday night the big 2 helped me cook a big family dinner with pasta, garlic bread, and salad.  Sam was on garlic bread duty.  He licked the garlic butter like icing, yuck, but did a great job!
Noah did a wonderful job reading the recipe and even cutting the bread!
We decided to try learning how to jump rope.
Sam got the whipping action down just fine.
 Daddy gave some tips.
Then Sam and I went to Starbucks for our own date.  He enjoyed his cake pop and orange/mango smoothie.  It was a beautiful day!
So, we're looking forward to a nice long weekend for Memorial Day and some more fun family time!  The weather looks great, couldn't be more happy!

Happy Mommy!

Well last week was nice, my birthday and mother's day all rolled into the same week.  Noah has been having a reverse alphabetical countdown to the end of the year (Z-A).  He had "Wacky" hair day for W.  Sam used a mustache to perfect the unibrow look.
 Slightly off centered mohawk, check!
The day of my birthday was lovely.  It was a beautiful day weather wise so we spent some time outside.  The boys picked me dandelions!

We also worked on our project for Bamma, some garden stepping stones.  We had mixed, molded, and made them earlier.  Now we were painting.  Sam painted his and Ellie's.
Noah was in charge of Isaac's and his.
We also got out our bubble machine, it was a big hit!
 Classic Sammy robot move.
Our final project, turned out pretty well I think!
Hanging out in the yard on a beautiful day, not much more I could ask for on my bday!
Isaac was loving the freedom of crawling in the grass.
Probably should have turned off the bubble machine to get a picture of them looking at me, huh?
 Pretty decent!
Filthy boys needed a bath, shaving cream makes it all the more enjoyable!
Sam's been rocking soccer class lately, here he is (in green shorts) lined up with coach Bob for a scrimmage.
At Noah's soccer game, Sam hangs out with his self dubbed "lady friend" Makenna.
It was so sunny, we got out a favorite hat for Isaac!
Girls night out for my bday/Mother's Day with Michelle and Erin and Philie.  Philie got me a cake, very cute no?  It said "Halfway to 70!"  Yep, I'm 35!
Isaac is so darn close to walking, he just doesn't trust his legs.  He can stand now unsupported and feel comfortable doing that.  Ask him to move forward and forget it!
It wouldn't be Mother's Day without cute art from my Noah!
I got a book that told me a lot about how Noah sees me.  This one says, "I wish I could buy my mom a house."
This one, "My mom's favorite song is 'My songs know what you did in the dark.'" And, "She sings like a flamingo."  Further investigation reveals that, according to Noah, flamingos have lovely singing voices!
Feeling very loved and thankful on this Mother's Day!  Fingerprint flowers, so cute!
