Working it with da Ladies...

Noah and I went to a playdate with my friends from work. We met up with Ryane and her little girl Meryn (almost 2) and Laura and her little girl Molly (10 days older than Noah). Noah was thrilled about easy access to the electronics, but he also enjoyed all of Meryn's toys and Molly's hair. It was fun getting the kids together and seeing all their different skills. Meryn was chatting it up and Molly was clapping, all the while Noah ate his way through an hour lunch. We had a great time and hope to do it again soon!

This week in the world of Naughty Noah

Lately, Noah has been sporting many of the cute outfits he got for Christmas. This last weekend it was the Big Guy/Little Guy outfit with Dad and the Daredevil shirt. These were both gifts from my mom. Noah's latest trick is chucking his toys through the banister spindles down the stairs. You can see how seriously he takes me when I tell him "No!" in that last picture. This boy's gonna be trouble.

So Big... So Cold!

So Noah's trick of the week is "so big." For those of you not up on infant games, this is the one where you say "How big is Noah?" and he responds by holding his arms up while you say "so big" in a high pitched voice. It's damn near impossible to capture the cuteness in a picture, but I tried. His other move is pulling himself up on his own in his pack n play, not sure if we're happy about that one. We went to the pediatrician today, stats update: 21 pounds 1 oz and 29 inches. Right on target and still in the "safe" range for the infant carrier seat, whew! In other news, stop snicker those of you who live in Cali, it is freezing cold here, well below freezing cold. As you can see, my indoor/outdoor thermometer read -11 this morning. That's air temp, wind chill is like -30, no joke! We have some highly dangerous icicles out front now. They are beautiful, but deadly. All day I've heard them crashing to the ground. Hope everyone else is staying warm!

Rub-a-dub-dub, Two Boys in the tub!

So, Fred came over today to show us his new moves (walking at 10 months, ridiculous!) The mommies decided that the boys both needed baths as a result of a combination of cheerios, strawberries, boogers, and Ellie slobber. So into the bath they both went. Yes, in the action shot you can see Noah chucking the washcloth at Fred. Noah also showed off his standing with legs wide apart move, while Fred countered with the tip toe stance. These boys are too funny! Oh, and the mommies did get some Wii time in, you'll have to ask Philie about my mad hula hoop skills!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone rang the new year in safely and happily! We certainly did here in the Rodriguez house. Our first post-Noah New Years celebration began rather quietly with Cliff and Mike setting up Dorkville, USA in our dining room complete with headsets and expletives flying. And Val came over as well, she was living the high life texting friends while sandwiched between 2 sleeping hounds. But the night got better and Mike and Cliff were paying for it the next day. Noah also enjoyed the day by rifling through the groceries and finding some baby food. He also played under his exersaucer for awhile. Noah is hitting every milestone slightly early (much to his mothers chagrin) and is now pulling up to stand. Look out world, he'll be walking soon!
