Isaac is Eight!

This dude had quite the week!  We decided to give swim lessons another try at a new location, we are really hopeful that this will be what gets him independently swimming in the deep end this summer!
We started out his birthday weekend with a big surprise - a hotel and pool weekend that he had been waiting over a year for! And this time, Bamma came with!
The hotel was close by and even did room decorations for special events! We had 2 adjoining rooms, it was pretty exciting!

We also took advantage of a fully vaccinated Bamma, and had her join in on the birthday fun.  Happy 8th to Isaac and Happy 70th to Bamma!

The hotel had private swim times, and even listed all the birthday kiddos on a screen in the lobby!
We had the whole pool to ourselves for a 40 minute slot, it was a blast!

Isaac was able to try out this new full face mask with snorkel, it was a big hit!
After the swimming, we had some down time in our rooms with plenty of treats.
Uncle Josh and Kjersten came for a special dinner and we surprised Bamma with an awesome birthday video with over 30 submissions from friends and family.
Whoa, birthday fun.  Exhausting.
After a fun sleepover, we came home to Isaac's final gift - a giant Baby Yoda squishmallow!

So, now the boys head into their spring break (mine is a week later) and we continue to enjoy our quality time all together!

So so ready for spring!

For having had a pretty dry December/January, February more than made up for it!  We had a lot of snow and a couple "virtual" snow days where we stayed home but still had school.  The boys had a recent day off school and Bamma even traipsed out into the snow with them!

The piles on the corners were CRAZY!
I received a wonderful, heartfelt note from Isaac for Valentine's Day.  On the back was an elaborate drawing of a cat and it's internal organs.  That's definitely a keeper!
Lots of kitty snuggles, even if they aren't always welcome.
Sam had the opportunity to go rock climbing with some cousins.  Thanks to Adeline and DeeWee for being so patient!
I bet him $20 he couldn't get to the top.  You'll notice his cousin is belaying him, which means she certainly "helped" him achieve his goal.

Isaac made in important sign for everyone.
Cold indoor weekends call for special treats!  Skillet cookie did not disappoint!
Mike decided to freshen up the dining room with some new paint and curtains, looking good!
Cats just being cats.
We finally hit our first day in the 50s, which obviously means grilling season.  I do not care if there is snow on the ground, fire it up!
We are almost at 1 year since Noah had a haircut - wow!
So here we are, patiently waiting for some more sun and warm temps to get outside!
