Happy Holidays 2022!

Welcome and please enjoy the Rodriguez quotes of 2022....

January - Abby was talking to Isaac about piano music and said, “sounds like 20s jazz music.” Isaac clarified, “you mean 1920s mom, because it’s the 2020s now right.” Sigh.

February - Noah had an in depth conversation about hair length and what to do with hair (pull back etc) with his grandmother. Bamma mentioned that Noah might get more girls interested if he pulled his hair back. He responded with “valentines is over, no one cares.” But the next day he went to school with his hair pulled back.

March - Noah was lamenting about how he couldn’t take his karate sword to school and Mike asked why and I explain about no weapons and Noah responds with “well they let me take these hands!”

March - watching Jurassic world, Sam asks "who was the guy in the original? Rube Goldberg?" Jeff Goldblum.

April - We were talking about the school superintendent and Isaac asked who the just the "regular intendent" was.

May - First thing Sam says to me at 6:20am on a random Friday with no warning prior to any coffee, “do you know how I think the end of the world will happen... because of pollution” and then goes on 10 min rant about ocean pollution.

June - We were talking about potential zoo trip and reminiscing about feeding giraffes; Sam said they should do alligator feeding - "just give people hunks of meat to toss in, what could go wrong?"

June - We were at a water park and Isaac kept calling the inflatable tubes “tubas.” "Why do all these people keep hogging all the tubas! It’s just rude!"

October - Noah decides to up his wardrobe game and gets new button down shirts. One morning he comes confused about a shirt that buttoned differently. "Is this European or something?" It was inside out.

October - Here's a story from Abby's work: Each week I focus on a "category of the week (think animals, toys, clothes, etc)." This week was "tools" and I had a student repeatedly call a screwdriver a scuba diver and now that's what we call a screwdriver.

October - Sam was rubbing Abby's back and said, “I don’t wanna break your whole spine.”
Abby replied with, “It’s ok, you won’t break my whole spine”
Sam: “No I said your OLD spine”

November - Abby and Mike were playing 1980s trivia game with the Townsends, last episode of match Abby guesses "1978!" Daren says: “what is the name of the game?!”

November - Noah and Abby volunteer at a cat rescue every couple of weeks. As Abby is cleaning cages, she hears Noah talking to the kittens and thinks "that's an interesting name?" Noah had read the cursive wrong, the kitten was named “honda” but Noah insisted it was "ionda."

December - Isaac opening his chocolate advent calendar and says “oh look it’s one of those circular bushes.” It was a wreath.

December - We had a major gas leak at 10pm two days prior to Christmas and had to evacuate the house, waking up Sam and Isaac who had been asleep for an hour. As we are urgently rushing to get out of the house and save the cats and valuables, Sam “but my melatonin literally just kicked in!” Don't worry, everything is ok and the line was repaired.

Thanksgiving 2022

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving as we hosted some of both sides of our family at our house.  Aunt Faith and Noah compared hair length.
Fun spending time with cousins!
Bamma and her girl, Lauren!
Rodriguez cousins in full force!
Matching PJs back in time for the holiday season :)
Isaac topped the tree and we got all the decorations out.

Colder temps mean kitty snuggles!
We did our annual cookie baking, it's nice that the boys can do a lot of the work on their own now!

Which freed me up to hang out with this cutie!
Sam had a junior high orientation night at Mead, can't believe he will be there next year!
And this past weekend we celebrated Nick's 21st birthday!  Time is just flying by!
And - Noah is practicing driving, what, how, when!?!  I can't even believe it.  But here we are, enjoying the ride (literally and figuratively).
