Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! We had a great time at Noah's first Thanksgiving. We went to Aunt JoJo's first out in Yorkville and then trekked over to Grandma Rodriguez' in Chicago Ridge. Noah did great, as usual, he loved seeing all his relatives. In other news of the week, Noah cut his first tooth (finally) somewhere on Thursday/Friday. It's one of the lower ones and we are all very happy that it's through and hopefully Noah is over his teething crabbiness (we'll see!). Noah has also become a very proficient crawler, therefore the baby gates are up and he has one cabinet of fun stuff in the kitchen to play with. He seems drawn to a pink plastic shot glass and a turkey baster, hum....

Two things Noah hates: Teething and the Browns

So, we're having a bit of a rough patch here with Mr. Noah on account of his teething. Tuesday night is the only night of the week that both Mom and Dad need decent sleep because they both work on Wednesday. Well, wouldn't you know it Noah screamed horrifically on Tuesday night from 3am till 4:30am. Finally some tylenol and snuggling with Mommy did the trick. So we're a little hazy today, but we all slept pretty well last night. In other news, Noah wanted me to tell everyone (especially his crazy uncle bob) that he HATES the Cleveland Browns. He thinks the Browns are a horrible team with wussy players and terrible quarterbacks. They will surely lose most of the rest of their games and look as bad on the field as people wearing poo-brown jerseys can look!

Benhart Bonaza!

This weekend we had several of my cousins over to see the new place. It was pretty busy with the 4 girls and 2 boys under the age of 8 here, but it was tons of fun. CJ, Noah's cousin who is 14months old, definitely gave our place a run for the money as far as the childproofing goes. It was good to have him here to test out the place before Noah gets too mobile. Speaking of that, Noah is an accomplished crawler after 3 days of practice. He's is now going everywhere and getting into anything he's not supposed to. Sigh, so ends my days of leaving him in a room worry free. But that's what babygates and pack-n-plays are for, right?

I can do it myself!

Noah has been demonstrating his newfound independence this week. He's pretty much got the crawling thing down, though he's not using it to it's full potential yet (which is fine with mommy). He's now holding his bottle himself, and (as of last night) trying to feed himself. His buddy Fred came over yesterday and the boys looked on as Philie crushed me on the Wii. The look on their faces was great, a mix of shock and embarassment. Won't be the last time they feel that about their mommies!

New skills, new time zone, new teeth?

So the time change was not the most fun experience we've ever had. Noah did not like the idea of waiting a whole hour till the morning feeding, but we're adjusted now. This week his new skill is getting from his belly to a sitting position all by himself. He did a nice step by step for me to photograph this morning. Our friend Cliff calls the middle move the "swimsuit pose" which is totally accurate. He's so proud of himself when he gets upright, it's hilarious. In other news we went to the pediatrician for a check up yesterday. He's weighing in at 19lbs 10 oz, and length/height he is 28.75 inches. He's in the 50% for weight and 75% for height, so he's starting to stretch out a little. The pediatrician also noticed how swollen his little gums were and said we should be expecting teeth soon. He has been gnawing on everything and has been a bit sniffly lately, so we'll see. It's incredible to see how fast they grow!

Halloween Part II

So for "official" Halloween Noah and I headed to LaGrange where we had lunch with Grandma, took a quick nap, then watched the Cossitt School parade, then handed out candy for trick-or-treaters. It was a very fun day and Noah was a great sport. He was exhasted by the end of the day and just sat staring into space in his highchair at 5pm! It was a lot of fun!
