Isaac's 5th birthday!

We are knee deep in the birthday season around here!  Before all the madness began, we had Noah's 4th grade recorder concert.  It was pretty exciting!
Noah even had a solo, on which he did a great job!
The biggest excitement was the arrival of our new pet, Barry the Tortoise.  This was a birthday present/surprise for all.  He came (via UPS) on a Friday while the boys were at school.  I was pretty thrilled!
He is a 6 month old russian tortoise, who should grow to about 6-8 inches and live up to 40 years!
So the boys awoke to his arrival on Saturday and were VERY excited!  Well, maybe Isaac was equally as excited about the balloons.
We hosted a birthday party for Xavier (3), Noah (10), and Isaac (5).  Unfortunately, Mike's new job responsibilities did not allow for a dad-cake this year.  But they were pretty thrilled with the Dairy Queen alternative!
Noah was happy with his Pokemon cards!
Isaac was happy with his various marble related toys!
And Xavier was happy with all the busses!
That night Sam and I were able to meet up with some Benhart cousins to watch Adeline's winter guard competition at Lake Park High School.
She did a great job with the Minooka group on a spider routine!
Isaac was the final say when it came to naming our new tortoise friend.  His official name is Barry Allen Rodriguez.  For those of you who don't know, Barry Allen is The Flash's alter ego name.
Sam is probably the MOST thrilled about Barry.  He cried tears of joy when we had the big reveal and he wants to snuggle him as much as possible.  We have to limit the "snuggling" to gently handling for now, as Barry is so tiny.
Noah is also a big fan, and is a big help when it comes to taking care of him.
Isaac was the star student of the week at preschool.  Exciting stuff!
On his actual birthday (3/14), he had some early morning presents from his brothers.
He asked for "all the eggs" for his birthday dinner, so eggs three way it was!
We finished off the day with some brookies!
Happy 5th Mr. Man, we are so proud of you!
Now that he's five, he can definitely do legos by himself!
We had a pretty low key St. Patty's Day on Saturday, capped off with a Shamrock Shake with these creepers!
Bamma and Uncle Josh took the boys to Medieval Times as a birthday treat this weekend!
Mike and I enjoyed a quiet Sunday afternoon at home while these maniacs went to the castle!
Today, Sam finally lost his other front tooth (it had been dangling for a good week)!
So now we move on to Noah's birthday week!
