Slowly venturing out in June...

So the better part of May was spent mostly at home, adhering to quarantine for all of us.  I did get this awesome yard sign from one of the principals at my school all the way in Hinsdale, pretty cool!
I celebrated my birthday at home, the boys made some nice signs for me!
And, my first social venture out was to the garden center with Philie, exciting!
Mike and the boys got me this nice color changing mug.
We celebrated Mother's Day in the garage at Bamma's house.  It was nice to get out and see some people face to face!
Having Dad work from home means there was more time to work on a variety of projects!
V learning continued for the boys throughout May.  They stuck with it, and enjoyed some "flexible seating."
Not entirely how we anticipated Noah graduating from 6th grade, but still VERY proud of him!

Glad to have some better trampoline weather!
We got a small inflatable pool for the summer, it's pretty handy on the hotter days!
And we enjoyed an outdoor dinner and fire with the Townsends too!  Thank goodness for the great weather so we can all be together!

Isaac lost both his front teeth and the results are adorable!
The cats have been enjoying us being home and have even learned to maybe enjoy each other's company too!
My peonies bloomed, which always makes me so happy!
Noah was able to return to karate outdoors, he enjoys that much better than zoom sessions in the basement.
One of our ongoing projects this summer is teaching the boys more about cooking and baking.  Noah decided to try out chocolate chip cookies, they were excellent!
Another mission this summer is exploring some new nature areas.  We tackled Starved Rock together with Mike, it was very beautiful!

Early morning snuggles are my favorite!
We have discovered the Molly LOVES apples.  Now anytime anyone is eating one, they have to share when they are finished!
More cooking, this time as a team to make dinner.
We have been playing a lot of Pokemon Go as a family.  It's pretty common in the evenings to hear Mike and Noah chatting about strategies.
Another exploration, this time it was Waterfall Glen.  Very nice day and nice trail!

We did manage to do Strawberry picking this year too!  With the Worsts!
It was a hot day, glad we went early!

We have made strawberry milkshakes, strawberry smoothies, and strawberry pie!
Car washing day!
This curious cat loves to sit in the dining room and spy on the neighbors.
Usually in June we do our annual Mud Day.  I believe this year would have been our 8th?  But we had to modify this year and did mud masks and a spa day.  They were unsure when we started, but overall everyone enjoyed themselves.
Relax.....
So, our plans are to continuing baking and hiking (hopefully to balance out the results).  Happy Summer!
