January Happenings

The post holiday blues haven't hit us, because we've been having just as much fun as ever!  Recently, we celebrated Nick's 13th birthday.  Cake, pinball and general mischief enjoyed by all!

Noah has really been enjoying his bed tent he received at Christmas.  He specifically asked that I take his picture and post it because he loves it so much!
 Cozy on the couch!
New project this week was trying candied orange peels.  Highly recommend, they are DELICIOUS!
The weather got just a titch more bearable last weekend, so Daddy headed out for some snow fort construction with the big 2.
 Nice work, gents!
The next day brought near 40 temps, so the fort lost wall integrity.  So we sent out our most destructive child to finish the job.
 Sam 1, Fort 0.
Bamma project of the week, Cute Eskimos with speech bubbles.  Noah says, "Take me to Florida RIGHT NOW!"  Sam says, "I like ice cream."  Isaac says, "Want to build an igloo?"
Crazy hair day approached on Friday, so Daddy did some awesome mohawk work.

We added some orange spray and we were ready to go!
This kid continues his reign as momma's boy supreme.  Maybe I encourage it, a little, just maybe...

Hibernation Week!

Hello frozen friends!  If you don't live in the Midwest, well lucky you, we've had several days of bitter cold and now some snow.   Before heading back to school after break we had some last fun, toenail painting...
and we had some productivity, cleaning up the boys room, hanging up all the costumes on a new rack, donating some old toys and in general just cleaning up!
The boys have been loving karate.  They recently earned their gold belts, exciting!

The old belt makes for a great dress up play for Isaac!
Leftover from the Benhart weekend, a white chocolate mustache set that Bamma did with the boys was a big hit!

Nick gave the boys some of his old karate gear and they put it to good use!
The bitter cold hit and we had school cancelled for both Wednesday and Thursday.  Thankfully we were trapped with plenty of baking supplies.  The chocolate cake turned out ugly but delicious!
We had a "Dip Dinner" where we made some boneless chicken and tried out five different dips.  Honey mustard, garlic parmesan, BBQ, ketchup, and ranch.  Of course ranch was the big winner!
Homemade pretzel making was messy, but a LOT of fun!

Noah made muscles (red plate), Sam made a puppy head (middle), and Isaac made an 'I" (white plate).  They were very tasty!
Thursday after pretzel making the boys each chose an activity they wanted to do.  Noah picked art (drawing together) and Sam picked a crocodile battle!
So we're surviving the polar conditions but hoping it gets tolerable outside soon!  Stay warm!
