When Daddy's away, we... hightail it to Grandma and Grandpas!

Mike had a trip to New York this week that became a little longer than expected due to a missed connection in Detroit.  So, on Monday we hightailed it to Burr Ridge to spend some time with Bamma and Bampa.  On Monday, I took the big 2 to the zoo while Bamma watched Isaac and Ellie.  We did all the things we can't do when mommy has a stroller.  Some highlights included the carousel...

 ...the butterfly exhibit...

 ...the rainforest house...
 ...the dolphin show...

 ...and the tram!
We really enjoyed going into all the different houses that we usually skip over when we have the little guy.  I don't think I had been in the bird house since I was a kid!
I'm not sure where Noah picked up the devil horn pose, but it's prominent in all pictures lately!
Have to end the day with ice cream!
On Tuesday (after a slumber party in Burr Ridge) Bamma and Isaac joined us for a trip to the DuPage Children's Museum.

"You mean these toys are all for me?!"

Sam enjoyed the blacklight/glow area with Bamma!
Noah enjoyed the tunnel of mirrors!
On Wednesday we ended up back in Roselle where the boys finished up the reading program for the library and were rewarded with new (keeper!) books!

Aunt Faith also stopped by for some laughs while watching Tom & Jerry.
I swear the bubble machine was the best investment EVER!

 Bubble Ninjas!
And today (Friday) we had a very spontaneous morning of going to the Farmer's Market, stopping by a new park, and then heading back to the Farm'er's Market to enjoy some water fountain play with the Schwantzs.  Just loving our summer, Happy August!
