Summer 2015 is in the books!

Here we are, August and yet again it's time to get back to school.  I'd say we've logged another highly successful summer, crossing off some big things on the kid (and mom) bucket list.  This last week, we were able to squeeze in a last few!  We went to the outlet mall in Aurora with my mom.  Nothing too exciting about buying new pants, but cookies with copious amounts of frosting are highly exciting!

Mike was in California all week for work, so we went to stay at my folks on Monday night.  Of course we had some quality time with the Churchias and the Skaggs!
 Sleepovers must mean donuts, right?!
On Tuesday we joined the Worsts in a glorious day at the Indiana Dunes.  Seriously, we will be doing this many more times in the years to come, the kids LOVE the beach!
Noah was a big fan of the surf, Sam actually managed to climb up 2 of the big dunes, and Isaac was content to play at the waters edge in the sand.
It was a wonderful day, a great way to spend an August day!
After another night in Burr Ridge, we returned to the comforts of home and some costume play.
Roselle Park District hosts a "Bounce Back to School" even each year.  It was mobbed, but thankfully Kjersten came with and waited in lines with Noah while Sam and Isaac were content to play in one of the smaller bounce houses.
Cotton candy and snow cones were a hit, giant lines were not.  Thinking next summer we may skip this event, but it was a nice night nonetheless!

So this weekend, our official last summer weekend, was spent with a lot of play time.  Noah and Sam have really gotten into Minecraft lately.  The screen play has now carried into real play as they construct buildings and such.  A trip to visit Papa garnered some minecraft figures from Cesca!

We close the summer as we started, with a trip to Oberweis!  It seems like it passed in a blink, and yet we were able to pack in so many fun memories!  Daddy tried to teach them a bit about chess as we waited for our ice cream.
 Fountain fun, one last time!

And one last note, Josh successfully completed a Spartan race this weekend.  He kind of got roped in for work, but managed to survive despite some intense heat.  Way to go Josh!
So, here we go into the school year.  Noah and I both start on Wednesday and Sam will start up (with another year of preschool) after Labor Day!
