We have been having some really wonderful adventures lately! As I finally finished up my school year, the boys got to do one last project with Bamma in Burr Ridge. She didn't disappoint with a shaving cream/paint seahorse project!
Our new deck and patio were also completed just in time for summer fun!
We are striving to have some "creative" time each day. One day we did some fun family graffiti pictures with dry erase markers, it was a big hit.
Ellie needed a few days to adjust to the new stair location of the deck. I came out several times to her standing where the stairs used to be like, "well...huh...what do I do now?"
We stopped by the Elk enclosure at Busse Woods, it was very fun!
We also checked out a bridge over Higgins road!
Lots more time for afternoon snuggles too!
"Will it float?" lego challenge!
We spotted the mama duck and her ducklings on a stop by the Schaumburg Farmers Market!
Bamma helped the boys make this for Mike for Father's Day...
At one of Sam's recent soccer games, Isaac stole Bampa's comb to get handsome!
We did a Lowe's kid's project day, very fun (and LOTS of hammering!)
Captain America!
We definitely got some stares as we exited the building in our work aprons!
We took advantage of a cooler evening to roast some s'mores with the neighbors!
Then, the boys and I headed out to visit our friends the Richmonds in Iowa. Nearby, was an indoor rock climbing gym we decided to check out. Harnesses on!
Noah was not very optimistic from the get-go!
The younger sibs opted for belay duty and supervision.
Ayla and Kyndal were quick to pick it up!
The Rodriguez boys do better on the ground!
"I like to jump on these pads!"
They kids all really enjoyed "bouldering" which is climbing up a smaller wall with no rope.
Ayla made it all the way up the big wall!
These two were too funny together!
Suckers for patience, ok!
We enjoyed the backyard and Sam and Ayla were fast BFFs like always!
We were able to watch the girls at swim lessons too!
We stopped by a local park where Noah was stung by a wasp, but no worries he handled it like a champ and was no worse the wear.
Afternoon iPad shenanigans!
We also gave rollerskating a try, another first for all the boys! Good thing they had little skate mates to help us out!
Isaac lasted about 15 minutes, Noah and Sam did very well and by the end didn't even need the skate mate to help!
Post skating frozen yogurt!
Andrea knows how to tastefully decorate her guest room!
Love this brood! Noah (8), Ayla (8), Kyndal (7), Isaac (3), Sam (5), and Lydia (4)!
Silly faces! It was a great 2 days spent with friends!
Now we brace ourselves because... MUD DAY IS COMING!
