We have been enjoying the slower pace of our at home summer with limited planned activities. Each week, we try to explore a new park/nature center. Last week it was Mallard Lake, which is in Bloomingdale near us. We enjoyed it!
We were also able to finally enjoy a small birthday celebration for Noah. He just wanted Papa Johns and Portillo's cake along with his friends. They were able to hang out the deck and enjoy each others company finally in person for the afternoon.
Sam and Isaac took the opportunity to catch some fireflies on a beautiful summer night.
Cat antics continue to amuse us each day.
Kid antics too!
We have spent a lot of time doing baking projects. We did some homemade pretzels.
And, we have done a lot of creative projects too. Sam did quite the chalk mural the other day.
It was strange, not being at Diamond Lake for the fireworks as usual. But, we were able to see fireworks at the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, they were great!
More cat antics, she is a professional bird and squirrel watcher!
Sam did his own chocolate chip cookies this week!
Mask practice, building our stamina for if/when we need to wear them all day at school.
Isaac made a loaf of bread this week!
So, we are keeping busy and healthy for now! Looking forward to Sam's birthday and continued summer fun!
