Keeping sane in deep winter

We enjoyed the holiday season together doing lots of things at home.  We had a nice week off prior to Christmas during which we baked and made a gingerbread house with Bamma.

Plenty of good squirrel watching for this gal...
Mike bought a new video game, Minecraft Dungeons, which is a 4 player co-op game.  It was a HUGE hit with everyone and many hours were spent on the couch together playing.
Christmas Eve was a lovely, we were able to go see Mike's family for a bit and hang out together.
Christmas Day came and 2 out of 3 were excited to be awake bright and early!
Lots more gaming, this time with fashion!
More cat hostages, I mean, cat snuggles.
Sam got some LED lights for his room, it's like a rave in there now!
Isaac got some rollerblades and quickly swapped with Sam for some traditional roller skates.
Sam was happy to try out the roller blades, he did a pretty good job!
Just a little cat nap!
Sam got a drone for Christmas and after a near catastrophe of losing it in a neighbor's backyard, he was able to learn to control it with lots of tips from Dad.
New Year's was pretty quiet around here, but we still had some fun!
I had a moment of realization that my eldest is a clone of his father as they lounged and talked video game strategy while dressed eerily similarly.
"I reject your attempt to put away Christmas decorations!"
Having Bamma in Western Springs means Kirschbaum's cookies!
So thankful that as an SLP I was eligible to receive my first COVID vaccine!  Now let's get everyone done!
Snow investigations from the safety of indoors.
We finally got some decent snow and spent the afternoon enjoying our backyard.  Small sledding hill for Sam...
Doing some heavy work of rolling a giant ball with Noah...
And Isaac just being creepy Isaac, "mom, I'm like a dead guy!"
We also took a trip back to our old stomping grounds in Roselle to do some bigger hills..

Enjoying some snow now, might get tired of the cold pretty quickly, but happy to be healthy and running around outside!
