3 man photo shoot

A couple weeks ago I took all 3 boys (with the help of our nanny, thank God!) to Penney's for our first photo shoot with Isaac.  I wanted to capture the boys together, Isaac as a newborn, and Noah as a new 5 year old.  I think they turned out pretty cute, even if Ike is looking muppet-like.
They all have matching shirts with the bat symbol.  Noah's and Sam's say "big brother" and Isaac's says "little brother."  I know in 15 years this picture will cause eye rolling, but I love it!
We also registered this guy for Kindergarten recently.  Can you believe it!
The backdrop for this montage is the spiderman quilt that Nana Lynn (Fred's grandma) made for Baby Isaac.  It's so fitting for him as he quickly is being indoctrinated into this superhero crew!
Of course there had to be at least 1 superhero pose.  The photographer asked "what does spiderman do?" and Noah responded with the webcrawler pose.  Pretty accurate, I'd say!

April showers...

As I type this, we're enduring the craziest of 2 day rainstorms we've seen.  Over 5 inches of rain in 24 hours, yowza.  Fortunately we're dry inside, our sump pump is working, and we have plenty of indoor activities to hopefully keep us all busy for today.  We've been having a lot of fun lately here with the 3 boy show.  Isaac's hair continues to impress and amaze...

Noah's artwork is really getting impressive for a 5 year old.  He enjoys finding pictures on the iPad and then trying to copy them.  Not to shabby, eh?
Not sure how this happened, but something about pop box hats makes them CRAZY!

Daddy continues to refine the face painting experience.  This time it was Batman!  Although we all agreed "devil child" might be more fitting for Sam.
We baked and decorated a birthday cake for daddy.  It was no masterpiece, but it tasted good!
Philie and I held our own Pinterest homemade coffee creamer taste test.  There was NO alcohol as we were responsible for 6 children under the age of 6.  The shot glasses held the coffee, the solo cups held the creamer.  We agreed the coconut/chocolate variety was the best.
Isaac continues his quest to be the heftiest Rodriguez kid.  The boy knows how to eat, look at those cheeks!
In mommy's quest to enjoy every last second of maternity leave, we had the nanny come stay with Ike and the big guys and I headed to the local indoor pool for some playtime.
"About all this caffeine consumption mom...!"
We celebrated crazy birthday week (Josh, my dad, Mike) at my parents place over the weekend.
Josh's girlfriend, Kjersten, was in town and they spent some time with the boys.  Uncle Josh was the proud recipient of a lego watch that Sam picked out for him.  It was a Star Wars watch that came with a storm trooper.  It barely fit and the face is the size of a nickel, which looks pretty hilarious on Josh's larger wrist, but when the boys were impressed.
Unbelievably enough, Ike is now 1 month old!  He has chunked up a lot and has become slightly more wakeful and active.
Look at those fat rolls on the legs!
He still has some hair on his ears too, so cute!
Lastly, this week we braved the Shedd Aquarium.  Thankfully, my mom came with to help keep eyes on the two big guys.  It was a great trip!

Hope everyone survives the massive amounts of rain!  Next week we head to the doctor for Ike's 1 month check up.  Can't wait to see what he weighs!

Survival with 3 boys

Well, I'm alive, I think.  We've managed bringing home a newborn, a 5th birthday, the flu, return to school (for Noah) and work for Mike, my parents moving, Easter, anything else?  Whew....  Noah celebrated his "actual" birthday with a ginormous balloon from my mom and a cool Ninjago shirt from his buddy Fred.

We had some cousins stop by to visit.  Addie and Ella are prime babysitter candidates and did well holding Ike as well as playing with the other two.

Isaac amazes us with how much he changes each day.  His eyes look dark grey, but blue sometimes.  He's certainly filling out quickly too!
We dyed Easter eggs as a family

And the weather finally cooperated enough so that we could test out the new bike.
Sam took a turn trying out the "bigger bikes" as he's graduated from his purple one...
Tee-ball has also become a favorite in the front yard lately.
I'm enjoying my break.  I always seem to have at least one boy (or sometimes all 3) on my person.  It can be a little intense at times, but mostly I just love it!
We celebrated Easter at my parents new place in Burr Ridge and the older two got to try out an Easter Egg Hunt in the basement.

Ike chose to opt out of the hunt and sleep through pretty much the entire affair.
We've been trying to make sure to get in that tummy time each day.  It's a little easier when Daddy gets down there with you!
 Yep, he's a cutie!
Of course the gals that work at Palmer Place in LaGrange had to throw a mini-party for Noah the other day.  They came armed with spiderman cupcakes and gifts for the eldest two kiddos.

We're working to convert the basement into a big boy play area.  The Xbox is now hooked up down there so we can do Fruit Ninja!
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not much of a maven for fashion.  It appears this skill or lack thereof has rubbed off on my kids.  Behold: Noah and his Ironman look (shorts over pants)...
...Sam and his helmet and sunglasses for basketball apparel...
...and lastly, Ike and his too tiny sleeper.  Yep, he's already outgrown some of his clothes.
Hope everyone has a great start to spring!!!
