As the summer winds down, we spent this last week or so doing some final free wheeling without a schedule. We found out that Noah will be in afternoon Kindergarten, so I think it will be nice to still have some quiet mornings. We went out to Plainfield to visit Ryane and her girls Piper and Meryn. They have a beautiful new house that the kids had a blast tearing around. It was nice to see how "older" kids (meaning 3 and above) can play together without much adult intervention.
The big excitement of the last week... A NEW MINIVAN! We'd been managing 3 kids in a Honda Pilot for awhile, but we knew it was not ideal. So, here she is.... a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country!
I'm pretty sure the boys favorite feature is the DVD player. Although the rule is that the trip has to be greater than 40 minutes in order to warrant a movie (we'll see how long I hold firm to that)!
We hit the local free splash pad at Turner Park with the Worst crew. Fun!
Hattie was happy to hang with us in the shade and suck down baby food by the pouch!
Trying to gear up for school by getting some reading in. Isaac is SUCH a slacker!
On Sunday we went to Evelyn's big 3rd birthday party. Leo was styling in his fedora and Yo Gabba Gabba shirt.
Noah was thrilled to play in the bounce house with the bday girl. The boys were worn out when we got home that night.
Ike is 5 months old today! He's proving to run along the same timeline as Noah, with sleeping fantastically and eating like a glutton (no solids yet, but soon!) His size still outpaces the other two by far. Here he surprised us by being able to sit up. Although he has a lot of "support" from his fat rolls.
We took advantage of a groupon for Pirate's Cove, a local children's amusement park. The paddle boats were a big hit!
We again met up with the Worsts who are enjoying a family "staycation."
The Worsts were joined by some neighbors, so we had 6 big kids! It was a great day and the 70 degree freak August weather here made it even more enjoyable!
A last spin on the carousel for the big guys!
Yar, me hearties!
Mike gave Ike a bath last night and he went to bed with slightly damp hair. So this morning....
No product there folks, just all natural volume!
Today we went to have a picnic lunch with Daddy. You night think it was windy, but nope his hair has that staying power!
So next week brings my return to work (3 days per week) and Noah has his open house and screening at Kindergarten (he starts the following week). While we're bummed the freedom of the summer schedule is ending, we're excited about the new opportunities heading our way!
