The boys of summer

Here we go, transitioning into a new school year.  I started up this week and Noah starts up next week.  And Mike is transitioning to a 2nd shift time for work, so we've spent the week figuring out childcare (thank GOODNESS for Bamma and Mrs. Laura) and transportation etc.  We did manage to have our share of fun this week too.  We did some exploding paint bags.  Basically, washable paint, cornstarch, and vinegar in ziploc bags.  Then a few spoonfuls of baking soda and....BOOM!

You can see the aftermath of little footprints all over!
On our last Friday before I started work, Philie hosted our last Pinterest Playdate.  This one was water themed.  They had the giant blob.  Basically plastic tarp taped and ironed into a giant bag that they filled with water and koolaid.  Pretty neat!
It was like a giant water mattress!
Philie had also made a kiddie car wash that was adorable, we had sponge balls, and ice blocks with dinosaurs that needed to be chipped out.
It's nice that the kids all get along so well.  There were about 12 this time, I think, it's hard to keep track of them all!

Hattie got into the action this time too!
The highlight of the day was of course not planned.  It never seems to be what we think it will.  But the kids LOVED the Worsts sandbox.  They spent the better part of the afternoon in there.

Nana Lynn joined us for awhile too, it was so fun for her to see the madness!

We finished the day by defacing (er, I mean coloring) all over Philie's van with window markers.  Nope, I did NOT let them color up the new van!
Meanwhile, Mr. Isaac is getting some moves down.  I put him down on his quilt and look where he ended up.  Baby gates back up!
We decided to do some giant bubbles in our own backyard.

Daddy is the expert bubble maker!

We have seen a TON of bugs around and in our house this week.  From cicadas to spiders to god only know what was on my towel the other morning (EEEEK!).  The highlight was probably this big walking stick bug near the garage.
Smiley boy!  Look at how his eyebrows are growing in, peaked in the middle.
Something about being outside with my boys makes me VERY happy.  We have just had a great summer.  I feel very blessed that I get to spend so much time with them.
Sam's big news of the week... he is pedaling his big wheel!  After months of practice and frustration and short legged-ness, we have success!  He is very proud!
Speaking of our accomplished 3 year old, we picked up his pictures from Penney's.  How big does he look!?  Amazing!
So, tune in next week for Noah's big first day of kindergarten and other exciting adventures with the Wild Rodriguez Brothers!
