So, immediately following the fun that was the Dells, I headed to the airport with Meera and Jason on Saturday 7/19/14. The Desai-Gruenhagen bunch headed off to Minnesota to spend time with family. I headed to Seattle to meet up with some high school friends for a wedding! The weekend was dubbed "Moms gone wild" as Philie and I were on vacation without any of our 6 children. We met up with Kathleen in Seattle and the excitement was flowing as we boarded the light rail from the airport into the city!
Our friend, Kelly, was the reason for the trip, so we stalked her spots around the city. First stop, Seattle University where she work. We can't possible find her office...
...or can we! I think she might have been a little spooked when we texted her congrats on the Employee Award that was hanging up in her cube!
Saturday night we took Kelly's suggestion and hit Elysium for dinner. Meanwhile our friends around the world from Japan to Denver to Pennsylvania to New York watched us in real time via a shared photo stream. Apple Genius!
Look who's getting an ADULT beverage, whoopie!
In the few hours we were out on Saturday evening, we walked 6 miles and tracked down "Brace Point" a nod to our friend Erin (Brace) Sinnokrak!
Picked up some red vines at the local Safeway on our "Kelly Tour." We can't possible find her apartment...
...oh and GET IN TOO! Yep, we stalked her apartment and decorated after some nice neighbor let us in. We got a text later that night from Kelly wondering how we pulled this magic off!
And you thought 35 was too old to do door decs, hahahaha!
Mischief Managed!
On Sunday, we had the whole day to wander about Seattle. We started the day by fueling up for what turned out to be an 8 mile day!
Top Pot donuts does NOT disappoint!
We decided to take a water taxi to see the sights of Seattle
Scenic panorama shot of Seattle (and Philie)!
Hey, where's that space needle?
We went to the famous fish market on Pike!
Kelly took time out of her wedding day to meet up with us for lunch. WE ARE SO EXCITED! Can you tell?
Must stop by the first Starbucks!
One last stop before getting wedding-ready, ice cream at Molly Moon!
We. Are. Ready!
Kelly and her wife (to be) Ginger, react to the massive smart phone paparazzi style reaction when they walk into the room filled with guests.
Kelly and Ginger have been together for 10 years. The ceremony was beautiful!
We realized that now our group of 8 high school friends are ALL married! And not one split amongst us all! Happy!
Adorable table tents of their dog, Boots. Of course matching belt with K&G embroidered on it! So classy!
Let there be cake!
These socks were purchased that day with encouragement from Kelly. You know we had to class up the joint, right?
Raising the roof, LTHS style baby!
I steal Kelly's coat for a little "Fat Guy in a little coat" action!
Sweet "Dirty Dancing" move by the newly married couple!
One last selfie with Anna Souchuk, another high school friend.
The weekend was amazing, filled with belly aching laughs and a few tears of joy. It was perfect and over WAY too fast. Thank you so much to Kelly and Ginger for inviting us fools. We had an excellent time!
