Disney Day 3!

Tuesday 6/16/15 was the first of our 2 Magic Kingdom days.  This is probably the day I was most excited for, as I have many happy memories in Magic Kingdom as a kiddo myself.  We were up early, as Magic Kingdom was opening at 8am (not extra magic hours, just high season add an early hour).  As you may have guessed, yes they had matching shirts!
We took the bus and arrived just in time to see the little opening show.  It's really cute, the characters pull up in the train and countdown the opening to the park.  I'm glad we caught it!

We moved quickly down main street, pausing just for a minute to admire the view.  Then we headed right to Peter Pan for our first ride with the Hewes crew.
Followed that immediately with It's a Small World, another traditional family favorite!

We found our Benhart crew (part of them) and went to the carousel for a ride all together!

Then on to the Teacups to see who could spin the fastest (it's always Josh).

Winnie the Pooh is relatively new (replaced Mr. Toad, sadly).  It proved to be Sam's favorite.
Forced selfie with Meredith, YOU LOVE YOUR COUSINS!
It was fun (and HOT again) to walk around with this crew!

Buzz Lightyear was a hit with all, of course JoJo had the highest score!
Mike and I took Sam on Dumbo while some of the bigger ones did Barnstormer and Isaac just sat with Bamma in the stroller and had a snack.

The Hewes clan ate lunch at Be Our Guest, it was really nice and the food was delicious!

Noah headed off with Bampa, Josh, and Kjersten over to Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain after we all did Haunted Mansion together.  The rest of us headed to Jungle Cruise.  Isaac fell sleep in the stroller, so Mike and I hit up Jungle Cruise with Sam.

We headed back to the hotel in the afternoon for a couple hours rest and coolness.  Then Mike and I went back to Magic Kingdom with our big two for some shopping, another ride on Buzz for Sam and some ice cream!

Meanwhile the Benharts did what they do best, silliness on Big Thunder Mountain!
We met up for the Electric Parade, it was really neat!

Swordfight between Captain Hook and Peter Pan!

We ended the night with the fireworks over Cinderella's castle, it was absolutely worth it!
It certainly was a late night, but Disney does a much better job than I remembered from my childhood of moving people out of the park and having buses ready to go back to the hotels.  It was a very fun (and hot) day!
