4th of July Weekend!

We had a pretty awesome holiday weekend.  It started with a visit from some friends on Wednesday from out of town.  Connor (and his mom, my HS friend Erin) is moving all the way from Japan to Washington DC, but is in town for awhile.  Emily (and her mom, my HS friend Amy) was also visiting from Denver.  Of course we failed at taking pictures of the children, but we did make some fun 4th of July shirts!
I had a lunch date with these two spidermen before they had a dentist appointment on Thursday!
We hosted at our house on the 3rd with family from both sides.  We prepped this festive fruit tray which was devoured in about 3 minutes flat!
Bamma brought some hilarious glasses for all to share!
 Uncle Sam!

Roselle does fireworks at the high school campus about 3 blocks away from us, so we headed over with my parents, Josh & Kjersten, Papa, Kim, Nick, and Cesca.
It was a very pleasant evening, aside from being swarmed by mosquitos!

Glow sticks help make the wait for fireworks more tolerable!

Isaac loved standing in Kjersten's lap and yelling at each firework.
Then he laid down next to Josh and enjoyed more.  The boys did a great job staying up late!
On Saturday, we enjoyed a fun afternoon at Papa's pool.  No pictures taken as I don't trust myself to handle my phone anywhere near the pool.  The boys loved seeing their cousins 2 days in a row.  On Sunday, we joined Josh & Kjersten and my parents at the Naperville Ribfest.  We hadn't been before and were excited about all the food choices.  Texas Nachos (waffle fries with BBQ pork and liquid cheese sauce), sounds good to me!
They had a nice variety of rides, unfortunately Sam wasn't tall enough to do most.  But they did do the elephant ride together.
 Noah loved the swing ride!
The boys opted out of ribs, instead enjoying cotton candy!

Mike was happy to find cheesecake on a stick!
The boys also found frozen bananas dipped in chocolate, yum!

It was a wonderful holiday weekend filled with nice weather, awesome food, and lots of family time!  Now for a week of swim lessons and some normalcy!
